It looks good. However to much black blending together. Need something to break up the contrast.

Re: Just painted my firebird! Watcha Think

I think the black rims would look better with a chrome lip, and possibly white letter tires. That'd break up the black i think. Thats my plan for my blacked out camaro.

Yea I am definitely getting white letter tire for it. Other than that I don't think I'm gonna do anything else to it.

I always think painting these old cars are awesome! It looks great!
Black is a hard color to keep clean, just make sure you maintain and clean with the right product. Get more life out of your paint. Do you mind if I ask how much did the paint job cost?

Re: Just painted my firebird! Watcha Think

Well the black paint was Dupli-Color Black from AutoZone which cost about $100.00 and we used Montana Clear Coat from NAPA which was $98.00. So about $200.00 for the paint job.

You mixed paint brands for the clean and paint? Thats usually a no-no. But the car does look exceptionally well. I like the all black look!

That is great! I sure hope it holds up for you! I know a guy here that uses auto zone paint also. His looks pretty good. He went with red, did you have a lot of prep work before? I want to get my car painted as well. I found a older guy here in my area that does it for a hobby. I go look at his work this week.

Re: Just painted my firebird! Watcha Think

Well we did have some body work to do. A couple dents and a couple rust spots to fill in. We did all that, sanded it down, then we wet sanded the whole car and wiped it down. Taped her up and sprayed her. Not to much prep work but some.
