what is recommended for stripping the paint from the spoiler and plastic fenders? I have tailstrip paint stipper, but need to see if its safe for use on the spoiler. I understand the chemical is not safe for the bumpers.

 

What year/model car and spoiler? Wrap around, flat wing style, camaro spoiler?

If its the rubber wrap around from '89, I haven't seen any real solution. However, stripper isn't the best idea given that the rubber is porous and will retain the stripper even after you primer/paint it. Sand/peel it off and start over.

 

Its the one listed in my profile: 89 TA with wrap around spoiler. I have bought another from the junk yard and I just need to paint it white. Is there any painting, sanding, preparation threads on third gen? Thanx

 

You found one in a junkyard without cracks? That's some score. It seems even the garage kept cars have cracks.
