Repairing '83 Firebird, T-Tops and Interior

So, I just purchased a 1983 Firebird a couple months ago, and it has some issues. It has leaky t-tops, which has caused mold to start growing in the carpet and seats which became soaked from the rain. What's worse is I'm not the greatest at repair, so I'm forced to take it to a shop. Anyone know approximately how much this might cost to replace the interior and fix the t-tops?

Wellll...if you're talking retail prices (which it sounds like you are if you're taking it to a shop), then this is not going to be a cheap fix.

I'd figure $300 for the t-top seals, $150 for the t-top bar (if needed), probably $1,000 to have your front and rear seats recovered in an incorrect cloth pattern (which is all that's available now), $300 for carpet, and probably at least 10 hours of labor additional labor for changing the carpet and t-top seals.

So, that comes to roughly $2,750.

In all fairness, other than recovering seats, none of this is particularly specialized work, and the required parts can be had much cheaper if you source them yourself. Time to start learning how to work on cars, or make friends with a mechanic!
