Hood on 88 IROC is suddenly Very Heavy

Hood on my 88 IROC has suddenly become very heavy.
Is it the gas filled "struts" or whatever we call 'em?
They haven't supported the hood for a long time, but
now the hood is very heavy for an old coot like me.

I agree with 'ranch, almost definitely the hood struts. Be happy they you didn't find out the hardway they're bad - been tapped on the top of the head by a hood on a couple occasions....hahaha
