Ok I'm changing my gfx from 89rs to 92z28 and I thought that this would be a simple bolt on prcedure but they don't match up like they should. The z28 gfx don't hav the bolts in the back to hold it to them to the car. Help me! Do I have to fab something?

 

Yep...different styles of ground effects had different mounting locations. You'll have to drill new holes and piece it together.

This is a very common upgrade, so hopefully someone who has done it before will chime in and give you a few tips.

 

hey!!!! do you have the metal brackets with the studs in them? I just found out myself that the 89 gfx had the studs molded with them but the 91-92 had metal brackets that attached under tabs on the gfx you probably noticed the tabs
if the person who took them off did not give you the metal brackets like the guy that i bought mine off of did then you either have to find a junk car (and they are probably already gone) or go to a metal shop and have them cut a piece of metal to fit then drill holes and put bolts through and use some lock nuts like i'm going to do. yeah kind of ghetto but noone will know but me. ohh and on the door pieces if you find out how the bottom tabs attach (i think its through plastic push ins but i ddont know what kind or where they attach to the underside of the door) but i do know there is supposed to be a metal bracket that has studs to hold it to the door in teh exact same way that the 89 door trim came off. I guess the tabs are supposed to be extra holding. let me know.
