91-92 gfx I knw, I knw; pls help!
I bought them off a salvage car in great shape.the front chin I got off ebay. It fits pretty good I knw tht I'm gonna hav to cut 2 slits each in the fenders. I hav pics if I can get them all to upload. The rocker panel are a diff. Story. If I match up the holes then the z28 sign in front and the rear of the gfx stick out about an inch from the body. so wat ill do is drill the holes in the front behind the z28 badge and in the rear in front of the rear wheel to make them flush and drill the middle hole if needed to attach everything else.
Now to the difficult part the door trim wat came off of my 89 had studs going through the side of the door the 91-92 apparently go through the bottom. How in the world did you fix this? Am I at least thinking right? Am I making this harder than it needs to be? Those of you who hav DIY this swap pls help!!!!!!!!!!!

The tab on top of the Z logo sandwich between the fender and a bracket. The bracket is basically a piece of metal approx 5" x 1 1/2" (galvanized for corrosion) with two bolts (speed nuts) attached to it. The bolts run into the fender into the interior behind kick panel. You shouldnt have to cut any slits in the fenders. The part that goes over the rocker and under the door attach with screws (black). The part that goes under the rocker attatches with common push in plastic clips as well as the two ends at each wheel well. Some one else will have to anwser for the piece that attaches to the door as I just dont know.

Ok I didn't knw tht under the car attach with push ins I thought they used 7mm like the 89 gfx. If I attach the top of the rocker gfx with the five 7mm bolts the brackets behind the z28 sign I don't have the bracket I can get it fabbed but one of the tabs it is supposed to be behind is broken off. :as anyone ever faced this before? and how did you fix it? Will this bracket pull the gfx flush like it should against the body? Can anyone tell about the door gfx? And kind of push ins do I need for under the car? Do I get them from advance auto? Thank you all so much!!!!!!!!

3m tab repair will fix the broken tab. I get the plastic clips in bulk through a vendor, but most parts stores should carry them. I looked up the door and it should bolt to the door via 5 bolts. My manual does not say size or if they are speed nuts, however, it does state that the two outside ones are diffrent from the three inside ones.

Now for the door trim how in the world will it bolt flush under the door and the door has about a 1/2 in offset btween the bottom of the ext. Panel and the flat underside part of the door? Wat if I break all the tabs and use 3M glue to hold to th door.

oh and fog lights this thing had fog lights on it at one time and the silly PO cut wires and snatched them off now I have OEM fog lights w/brackets and would like to know how in the world to attach them to the body of the car? if anyone has good (under the car ) pics i would appreciate it.
EDIT: I found out that the 91-92 gfx have a metal bar that holds the studs that go thru the door just like the 89rs door gfx this is what i did not know the 89 has the studs molded into as one piece. not so on 92 the metal bracket locks into place on the moulding and then the tabs along the bottom probably attach with plastic push pins. I have to find this metal bracket or get get it fabbed and the studs welded or riveted. Thank you all and still any help is appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same concept as tap repair will fix it. If you want "new" I would check the classified boards on here, will be cheaper than Ebay.

Re: 91-92 gfx I knw, I knw; pls help!
thx camarotucker for the advice the classifieds here are awesome I posted and in a few days had just what i need very reasonable. Now I have another question(s) maybe you all can help me with:
this is a long shot but I need the fog lamp adjustment screw the actual screw with the spring on it. and I need the passenger side rocker panel brackets front and rear when I bought the gfx from the guy at the time I didn't know that it was supposed to come with the two metal brackets. Well now I know and I can't seem to move on without someone either fabbing and i can't find anyone who can or someone being nice enough to sell the ones off of their gfx and noone will seperate (I don't blame them.)
so i'm in a pickle if you can help please do. now that is the front and rear metal brackets off a 91-92 camaro passenger side rocker panel gfx. maybe you had a broken gfx that just wasn't any good but you kept the brackets or something. let me know. I've emailed several people and "so far" no one has come up with anything so I thought maybe you could help. thx

Cant find the brackets, you may have to fabricate them. There will be some in the yards but you will have to do your leg work. There is a "parts wanted" classified section.

DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The gfx are on and I must admit they look good!! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be if I knew exactly what I had to do to start off with then it would have went faster. but the 91-92 gfx are gorgeous. now i've moved on to the window motors and lock actuators and white lithium grease.
