Hood Louvers

I've been trying to get a descent pair of hood louvers off of ebay, but i cant really find what the material is. I know that its probably some form of plastic and I was wondering if there are any metal hood louvers or if there are any with stronger material. Any suggestions, expertise, etc.?

Re: Hood Louvers

They're plastic. Old plastic. Old, brittle plastic. I know a pair of replacements will probably run you around $150, and you can get those from Hawks or wherever. I know there was a thread on here regarding the possibility of making a set out of aluminum or other material but I don't think I ever saw a finished product come out of it. Just search for "hood louvers" for more info.

Good luck!
