Core support
Anybody have tips on replacing the core support? Bought the car wrecked. Just a little like triangle pushed in part from a truck tow hitch.

Re: Core support
Remove all front sheet metal and radiator. Locate and drill out spot welds (with spot weld cutter), being careful not to damage the flanges that you will be reusing. Remove core support, straighten, clean, dress mating flanges. Check new part fittment. Clamp in place and spot weld. Use the same number of factory spot welds and thier approximent locations, but move the spot welds ove an inch or so to get new metal. If no spot welder is available plug welds may be susbsituted. Follow manufactures recomendations for plug weld size, if no recomendation exists use 8mm. Reinstall corrosion protection, paint. Reassemble front end. It will be the same general procedure as replacing a quarter panel.
Edit, Just read that it was wrecked. This will require that the frame is straightened before the old support is removed.
