Rear hatch motor need help

Will the 91-92 hatch pull down motor fit the 89 Camaro I have the old style that has the wide bushing and there wore out and it won't pull down all the way with out putting a hose to get it to suck all the way down now it's draining my battery so will the assembly that takes the small bushing in the late 91-92 models since it is a better design Im not sure if it fits the older harness and bolt up currently I have the old style with the trunk pop switch in the center console and does anyone now why the hatch motor will drain my battery thanks

No. Mounting pattern is completely different. I suppose you could cut out your hatch motor mount, then cut out the hatch motor mount from a late 91-92 car and weld it to your car. Swapping the hatch hook and re-wiring the car for the newer pull-down motor will be easy by comparison.

Or he could swap to the old style (non-electric motor) style.

You could pull the fuse from the fuse box too. It is called "lid".

Re: Rear hatch motor need help

there is also a relay back there, just unplug everything. I would just convert to a regular slam type hatch.
