Re Sealing Hatch

Im trying to reseal the hatch by removing the painted part of the hatch and then resealing it, but when i began to remove the nuts the two on the right hand side the bolts began spinning with the nut and now i cant tighten or loosen the nuts.
Any suggestions to remove the nuts or can you replace the bolts if i cut them off?would be great!
Need to fix this ASAP
Thanks

Re: Re Sealing Hatch

Very common problem. I use a nut splitter or cut them being careful to not cut the stud.. then I reweld the studs in place. Good luck..

Re: Re Sealing Hatch

Thats what i was thinking. cut nut off then reweld the stud but i might see if i can get a stud off one at the junkyard and just cut the old one out and rewld the new one in somehow

Re: Re Sealing Hatch

took a hack saw and cut a groove in the stud then used a screw driver to hold the stud then used a wrentch to turn the nut, but also used a torch to heat up the locktite to loosen it up.
