Fixing front Chin Options?

I recently purchased a front bumper from another person on the site and i noticed the chin spoiler has a spot missing. It looks between the size of a nickle and quarter. Its in the very worst place to, at the bottom near the middle. I was planning on fixing it with rubber bumper repair from the body shop but i was wondering what i can do as far as support to keep it from cracking back open under flex. I was thinking of adding a small piece of angle iron behind the spoiler and drill some holes in it and use the rubber bumper repair to bond it in place. I was concerned whether this would make it too stiff and just cause cracking around the angle iron. Anyone have any advice?

If it is a perfectly round hole, that is a factory designed drain for any water that gets up in there. My GTA has one of those too, IIRC seeing under the car.
