Front bumper cover dent
I did a search for restoration of the front bumper cover, and turned up ways to fix a crack or hole in the bumper cover. I have some holes to fill, so they were good reading. But I have another problem....
The top middle of the front bumper cover, just to the side of the bird sticker, has a slight dent as if somebody sat on it. Is it possible to fix a dent (sagging?) in a urethane bumper cover? I'm wondering how it might respond to a heat gun and then cooling it in the proper shape. Has anyone tried this, and did it retain it's back-to-original shape after the summer sun hit it?
Thanks!

Re: Front bumper cover dent
i read that link and i didn't see MY solution on there....maybe somebody else did it too, who knows? but what i did was take the bumper cover OFF, turn it up side down , rough up the area that was sagging ( back side only) and Glued a piece of aluminum plate to it with high strenght epoxy....while it was setting up i put a 30 pound dumb bell on it...i did one side per night....so it gets nice and flat on your floor......now it CAN'T sag..mine looks good now for the last 4 years or so.....

If you use heat to move it back into place, as soon as it gets hot outside the sag will return. The basic idea in the thread is to somehow make a rear reinforcement for it. Another solution would be to use plastic glaze (filler), however, this would require a repaint.

Cool, thanks guys! You must have used a better search term than I did, lol. Looks like an aluminum reinforcement is the way to go with this problem.
