metal lip around windows
hey just picked up a 86z an it has this ugly thin metal lip on the roof that follows the window outline is there an ez way to remove this?

its it removable, yes. is it easily removable...no. its gonna require some cutting, some welding, some grinding, some body filler, and paint.

On my 85 IROC, the drip rail is held in place with several screws underneath the weather stripping.

No grinding, filling... It is the drip rail. You may need a little paint after removal, depending on how it was painted, but remove the upper window seal, unbolt the seal track and you will see the drip rail. It is either screwed in or glued on, but is easily removed.
