Hawks is offering a group purchase on the fiberglass wrap around spoilers,we need 10 members to commit on the purchase. The reg.price is $399.00,Hawks will discount $50.00+the $15.00 boxing charge, you have to pay for shipping witch shouldn't be no more than $150.00.So you can take that discount and apply it to the cost of shipping. This offer is not going to last,if you want one call Steve at Hawks and mention the group purchase.Yes you can substitute 91-92 or a 4th gen.for the same deal.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
Sounds like a good deal mine was over 550 shipped to my door.

Dont just think you can scuff and paint these mine needed reshaping, filler, primer, and then paint. All together about 15 hours of work to get it to fit then primed and painted.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
Ive looked into these before and it seems like everyone has always had to put a lot of time into getting these things just to look somewhat decent. Not going to lie but if Im going to spend $550+ on a wing I expect it to go on with minimal work, I kind a feel that Hawks is over priced especially when you can find the same parts used for next to nothing. Just my .02.

You can buy anything used cheaper,if you want new that's the cost you have to pay. From what I under stand Hawks went out and invested a lot of money for these things. If everybody felt like you then,no company would invest in the parts that our 3rd gens need

A wrap around spoiler is not something my 3rd gen "needs". Would it be nice to have, sure. I will never spend that kind of money for one, even with the discount.

I put it up over on the Turbo Trans Am board also. The original post was from last year. Did you contact them to make sure the deal is still good?
BTW - I have one on my TTA, and it looks great. The only way to tell is by tapping on it to see that it's fiberglass. I bought it with the spoiler on it, so I don't know how much prep was involved with getting it to look that way.

Hi 82,yes I talked to Hawks this morning, from what I gathered on the spoiler is it will bolt right up.I've only seen one guy on here that had a problem with them and it was taken care of pretty quick,I think it was twisted or something.
I'm trying to get a few things together before I send it to the body shop for paint.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
I have read before from others that this wing needs a bunch of prep work before paint, including reshaping and filling of pits? Does anyone else carry a fiberglass wing that doesn't need a lot of work before primer/paint?

I'm not at the point of being ready to paint my car (and therefore also a new wing), so I haven't looked into this yet. But if all the other fiberglass wings out there also need a ton of work (and therefore aren't any different from Hawk's), and this one is on a discounted sale like this..... then it would be worth it to me to buy it now and hold on to it until I'm ready to paint the car.

Opinions on Hawk's wing quality? And vs. the competition's?

If you purchase this from Classic it will cost you a total of $694.79,
$459.99 for the spoiler,$231.30 for shipping.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
Hey guys, just wanted to chime in, if you have any questions on the shipping just let me know. If you are in the southeast then shipping will be around $90 via AAA Cooper, if you are northeast then you are looking around $130 via ABF Freight, if you are west of TX then looking at around $150 via Saia freight. If you want an exact shipping quote please email me at Questions@Hawksthirdgenparts.com or you can also email Melissa at Melissa@Hawksthirdgenparts.com

Right now we have 4 orders for them, we will not charge your credit card until we have all 10 orders and we will ship them out all at 1 time. The discount is $50 off of the price of $399, I will also knock off the $15 boxing fee.

Thanks, Steven

We have our own fiberglass shop that makes 90% of the hoods and spoilers that we sell. The 85-90 & also 91-92 spoilers we sell are made by our fiberglass shop. We do not wholesale our spoilers to Classic Industries. I do not know the quality of theres nor do I know where they get them from.

Also our fiberglass shop only makes the hoods and spoilers for us, they do not sell to the public.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
Actually I bought one from Hawks when they were here for a car show. Bought the last one they had for $300 unboxed but with clips. Was not bad to clean up and paint. I was not happy with the fit until I got my measuring stick out. Most of our trunk/hatch lid stick out beyond the rear by as much as 1/2 inch. I was able to correct that by finding out it was adjustable if done delicately. Then I find that the spoiler mounting hole was 3/8 inch too far to the front on passenger side. easily corrected.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
Overall very happy with it. I did no sanding, filing or modification to the wing. It still has the rubber design fit flaws you know leaves getting stuck under it. GM should have designed the wrap around to stop at the glass, made of fiberglass which would have made a tighter fit from the beginning. They probably chose the rubber because these cars were being mass produced and easier for the factory workers suffering from a hang over to fit. The replica's have not improved with the fit at all. But that is all we have to replace our failing rubber ones. They don't make them anymore.

i went in with a friend just after the last GP and after a slight issue that Bruce took care of i finally got around to mounting it. the friend that helped me mount mine has been in and around the body biz for a long time and was VERY impressed with the fitment and appearance of the product.

my friend hasn't mounted his but we have looked at it and that one as well was a VERY nice piece. the HAWKS wing fits about as good as the factory wing.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
I'd like in on this gp as well, but i am in Canada. I'll contact Hawks on Monday to make shipping arrangements. Wonder if they can hold it for pickup for me? My bro-in-law is a truck driver and gets to the Carolinas pretty regularly, maybe he can pick it ip for me.

I'll post back here when I order it.

Re: Wrap Around Spoiler Sale
I just mounted the one I bought last year. It fits very well, even if I had to drill a new hole in the deck lid for the bolt closest to the driver's side. More importantly it looks great on the car. Now it just needs paint.

I bumped it to the top again over there. A bunch of TTA guys got in on the last group purchase, and I know that some of them need a new spoiler. I think the shipping price is scaring some of them away. But there is no other alternative if your car is in great shape with a cracked spoiler. Did Hawks give you a time limit to find 10 guys?
