Removing Oxidation from top of car? *Pics*

87 GTA that was originally white. Painted back in the mid 90's to black. They actually did a really good job but the car sat for about 7 years under a cover but it didn't stop the sun from beating the top of the car. Some pretty good oxidation. I have a 7inch buffer and have been using terry cloths with Turtle Wax Color Back and also their rubbing compound. I've no clue about what I'm doing to be honest and have only been lucky to get a spot or two, to really shine. Then I'm scratching my head on how I did it.

My question is, what products should I be using, what's the best speed, what pads and the steps? As I said, I know nothing about body work but have watched a few youtube videos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

**Top was done by hand with rubbing compound, terry white pad. Hood was done with buffer, same material pad.

You've got the basic idea. Check with the products you are using for their recommendations on buffer speed and such. Lots of good products out there. Just be careful on edges and raised areas, easy to cut off all the paint. Basically that's all you are doing, removing the bad paint to expose the good. Being a repaint and by the looks that's single stage. Should buff out pretty nice as long as there is enough paint. Be careful and good luck with it.

I've used both the Turtle Wax polishing and rubbing compound. I didn't care for the polishing compound, rubbing compound worked better for me, with a buffer anyway.
