Getting rid of little dings....................
Getting rid of little dings....................
My car is in really really good shape on the body except the hood has some scratches and some little dings so does the roof of the car. Im getting a fiberglass hood sometime between now and next summer and that will fix the hood problem but how do I get the dings out of the roof? There not paint chips just little *** dings and when you look at the roof at the right angle it makes it look like ****! How do I fix this???? Thanks for the help!
WEll, I've never tried it before, only heard that this works well from someond who has tried it. Put the car out in the sun on a warm day, then when the roof is nice and hot, put a piece of dry ice (they used liquid nitrogen, but good luck gettin ahold of that) on the ding. This will cause the metal to contract and pull itself back to it's original shape (or closer to it anyway) due to the rapid cooling of the metal. Hope this could be of some help.

Something else to try. I had a ding on the hood of my 98 Dodge hood, right at the radius. I used a "Paintless Dent Removal Service". They drilled a hole through the back side and finnessed it back to perfect. They set up a fluorescent light bar behind it as a reference point to work to. I could not see the repair when it was done. It cost me something like $160, but I didn't have to have the hood re-painted. Good luck, Lon.
