Should I have a panel here?
Should there be a panel to cover up all of the wires under the dash on the driver and passenger sides of the car? I have had my car since 97 and there was never one there since I have had it. I just wondered because you can see all of the wires and everything else up in there quit easily. Thanks

Yeah you should. I'm suprised your car doesn't have them. They set flushed w/ the fuse panel cover. I guess at one time that car was an electrical nightmare or something. I don't know why someone would take that off and leave it like that.

Car: Used to be an '87 IROC
Engine: 5.7l TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3:23?
I owned a new '85 - it had the panels on both sides. When I bought my '87 (also new), I discovered some time later that it didn't have any! The radio had been replaced with an incorrect one, too, but that's probably unrelated. I took it back to the dealer, who gladly "stole" some and put them in for me (he also swapped in the correct radio).
I sorta got the impression that they are somewhat optional. Most cars got 'em, but not all. I'm not sure about that, though.

They are standard on all cars. If your car came without them, it's because the dealer "stole" them from your car to give to somebody else. The two thirdgen parts advertisers for thirdgen.org should carry them, or check on ebay.
