Re: Painting Finally!!!
Your car is looking great. I can't wait to see it finished. I'm in the process of finishing mine up from repaint. My carpet should be here by tomorrow and then I'll get to put all my interior back in.

Thanks. I haven't either. The factory color is bright red and silver for ground effects, I ain't sure what the red is but its off a 75 TA and the ground affects are gunmetal gray. Alot of people were worried about it bein to dark with red

Blacked out engine bay, cowl panel, intake tubing, wiring loom, brake booster, a/c and blower motor. Did a throttle body coolant bypass, and refinished the last rim. Bedlinered both rear inner quarters. Also painted the PONTIAC in the rims red and the fins on the plenum.

Re: Painting Finally!!!
filled in the windshield channel gap to "make" a windshield trim with windshield urethane and wetsanded and buffed out the runs. U can tell on the door where I wetsanded and buffed and you can see where it has orange peel.

Re: Painting Finally!!!
Why didn't you buy a new windshield trim? They are only about 10 bucks and you could have saved yourself the headache.

Yes it is, When I put the windshield in, I didn't put the trim around it because the car wasn't painted yet

What color should I paint
Ok I am just now starting to use the site not sure if this is where i should be posting but i would appreciate your opinions.
Car looks pretty good from about 20 ft but paint is pealing on the bumper and has some rust on passenger wheel well as well as on the window rails.
trying to decide between
silver
gray
or blue
feel free to give me any other ideas you may have

Check this out: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...lor-paint.html.
Also go to the Body section of the forum, and post a new thread, post a pic of your car and the problem areas. How bad is the rust? If it is just surface rust you can wire wheel it, spray rust kill on it, then bondo over it. If it is through the metal you will have to replace it or patch it.

Also put a tps sensor on today and car runs a ton better!

Re: Painting Finally!!!
Thanks! I have all new decals on it, 88 didn't have the one on the hood, the only 2 I put in the correct place was the trans am name on the fenders and the phoenix on the sail panel. I put the 5.0 L Fuel Injection decal on the hood by the side vents and the trans am bumper names in the middle of the side they went on instead of right along the ground affect

Re: Painting Finally!!!
Definately, I need to get mine painted bad. The front half of the car is a different shade of white than the rear half, and there's peeling and flaking everywhere. About time for a visit to Macco or something.
