4- spd.

Hi,
My '82 Berlinetta has the odd-ball 4 spd. manual shifter. I cant seem to find a short throw shifter for it. The guy at the parts store said they dont make one because it is a linkage type shifter, not a rail type. I really like the short throw B&M thats on my buddies Civic, (yes a Civic! ). So what should I do? I was thinking of cutting the stick down a couple of inches. What do you think? Suggestions?

as far as i know you should have a saginaw transmission with a 2.8. you should be able to get a competition plus shifter from hurst for that application.I have just done a 4 speed muncie trans swap in a 88 firebird and while i was shopping for shifters I believe i saw one for a saginaw .try the hurst web site maybe it will help you.
