Interior options (trying to get them all. ;) )

I'm getting the overhead console, cupholders on the doors, and map pocket.

My big questions are how to mount the dash map pocket (how do I get back in there, special drilling, what?), and where to find/how do I mount the cupholders? I've seen them around, but can't seem to find any now that I want them. Any special techniques for mounting, or just drill and plug? Thanks ahead.

The dash map pocket? I have one of those, it's held on with friction fittings; the same kind that hold the door panels on. (The fittings are integral with the map pocket tho, you can't replace them unless you pull the vinyl off the backside of the map pocket.)

I assume you have just the vinyl rectangle up there? Reach behind it, in the center, and give it a hard yank. It should come right off.

I mounted my cupholders in the same spot that they came from the factory by drilling holes in the doors.

I mounted the 90-92 Firebird cup holders with integral map pocket on my 90 RS. Once I pulled off the door panel I discovered what I suspedcted all along. The mounting holes are already in the inner door panel. To mount it like the factory did, go to the "HELP" section of your Auto Parts store and get the correct off-white plastic square plugs. They press right in the small square holes in the inner door panel. Then carefully measure and mark the outer door trim panel for the hole locations and drill. As an alternative to drilling, I actually found a large center punch worked pretty well to make the hole. Also less frustrating than the drill snagging the carpeting. If you can't find those plugs, you can use "J" clips which are also readily available. I am really pleased with the install. I only wish I had seen these a lot sooner. One less thing the 4th Gen F-bodies have over us, cuz we got cupholders now! good luck, Lon.
