I am having problems getting my hatch motor to pull the hatch all the way down. I can literally hear it slip as the motor drops lower. The back hatch just doesn't go down anymore and its getting annoying because it has rained and snowed hear and the back of my IROC is all freakin wet. I just want it to seal up tight. I don't care anything about the power latch working or not. Will WD40 solf my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the weatherstripping is still soft and there's nothing blocking the hatch from closing all the way. You might have stripped the teeth in the motor (probably not).

I had the same problem with my car a few years back, it fixed it self somehow.

Iroc,
if you take off the back panel where the motor is, you will see that the motor and assembly is bolted down with 3 bolts. if you loosen these bolts, you will be able to adjust the position of the motor thus hopefully solving your problem..
