it's been totally stripped for 3 months now, but I started stripping it about 6 months - no rust! I can't believe it either!

Checked out your site. Looked like the body was unmolested and still had the original stripes! You don't see that anymore. Too bad though on the rust. My '84 Z28 also came from MO and had the rust problem to deal with. But my main problem areas were the bottoms of the doors and the hatch channel. Good luck on your project.

Looks like a great project. It's nice to see another 84 being saved from the wrecking yard. Make sure you keep us up to date.

Right on dude! That's practically an identical twin to my '84 when I bought it. Everything was the same except my driver's side quarter panel had the 5 quarts of bondo in it (but it looked terrible). I spent the last 2 years refining the body and just painted it last summer. Replacing that 305 is my next project...

man that things almost identical to my 86Z, Mine has zero rust though, but my paint is pretty much gone, and my bumpers are all cracked too...

383-I don't have a Camaro, but I do have a 84 Firebird that currently putters around as a daily driver with the 2.8 v6 showing over 166,000 on the odo.
