Help! Can this be saved by polishing?
When I purchased this car, it came this way. Someone either really screwed up with buffing up the hood or it just oxidized. Is there a way to salvage the old paint, even though the metal is clearly showing? Or is this a hopeless cause?
Is there something I can use to get the hood looking in its original condition without taking it to the paint shop?

someone at one point in the car's life left a cover on it outside and it abraded the clear coat, as far as I know, all you can do is sand the clear down and spray it again.
Edit:
after taking another look it'll have to be re-sprayed.

It will be a big job, if it is only the hood take to a paint shop. Maybe it will not cost to much just for the hood. Looks like a pretty sweet color other wise.
