What would you do for 2k
I just got a 89 Gta for 1200 dollars, it wasnt in the best shape when i got it but i fixed most of the things that were wrong, expect the cracked aero wing. I have about 2k left to spend on it before i have to start saving up, the engine runs really good, dosent leak oil or smoke at all, What would you guys do with 2k? make it look really nice, i was going to get either a cowl hood or Ram air, and i like the look of the z28's high rise spoiler, and rims, or should i go with engine mods, what 1/4 mile times do you think i could run if i spent the money on performance mods instead?
Thanks
Chaz

Personally, I would do appearance mods first--engine mods can often be done sporadically, whenever the $$$ is available. I feel it's much more pleasurable to drive a slower, nice-looking car than a faster beater, especially if it's you daily driver. IMO go for a new ram air hood (cowls are for camaros...) and get a replacement GTA wing.

I personally like Ram-Air on a Bird and Cowls on Camaros. But it is your car so you make the choice. Oh and I would replace the hood, wing, put on headers, K&N, and get a decent paint job.

Unrelated, but you are from Fayetteville? I live near Poteau, OK, so I am really not that far away from you. I might have to come see the 'ol GTA some time. I always love to go to AQ Chicken in Springdale when I am up there!! So, are there any other decent F-bodys up there? If there are give me a holler, we can go crusin or somethin' and race some Mudstains!! Thanks

I must be getting old because I'm telling you to KEEP THAT MONEY IN THE BANK.
I just lunched my 305 HO at 110k after 3 years of reliable beating. right now it's in the shop getting a remanufactured longblock for a not to severe fee of...........you guessed it two grand. what would I be doing right now if I didn't have two Gs in the bank??? probably not driving. being in the Navy,I wouldn't exactly be pulling that kind of money out of my A$$. you just got your new ride, congratulations,I know the feeling, forget you ever had that money.start from scratch, when somehting hairy comes up you will certainly "remember" that money you stashed away.
my '84 TA comes stock with a functional cowl, how can a cowl be just for camaros??
ofcourse that 4thgen clone ram-air hood is desirable,I don't have the heart to lose the stock cowl scoop GFX
