Re: Hatch out of ajustment?

Mine was a good half-inch or more out, I just adjusted at the hinge by loosening the fasteners, pushing it forward, and retightening. It's more like a quarter-inch now, good enough for the moment.

Re: Hatch out of ajustment?

I just adjusted mine at the hinge. The best way to do it is to remove the struts and then you can move the hatch where it needs to be. I was initially trying to do it with the struts connected and could not get it right. I took off the struts and got it where it needed to be the first time out.

Re: Hatch out of ajustment?

I had already moved mine forward at the hinge and even checked the body bolts. It was off almost and inch after that. The only way to get it close was to reset the panel.

Correct. You don't have to take the hatch off to adjust it at the hinges. But you will have to disconnect the struts from the hatch or when you loosen the hinge the hatch will be pushed back but them.

I have louvers and my hinges look good. If I bent them any my louvers would hit the body when opening the hatch.

We just have to remember we're working with a pinch welded mass produced car built mostly in the 80s. Things not lining up perfect is normal.

I can accept a quarter-inch or less, even if I'm not exactly happy about it.

I have a much harder time when the discrepancies are so great that possibly the hatch won't latch down when closed...

My 91 Z28 looks the same as yours. I think I need a combo of glass to hinge adjustment and the bottom panel adjustment.
