rear deck latch

has anyone had to replace the electric pull-down decklid lock? if so, has anyone ever replaced the electric latch with a fixed latch or do they even exist? the car in question is a 1986 Z-28 the plastic guides and threads for the mounting bolts have shattered and busted away. if anyone can give me some advice, i would really appreciate it. thanks

I have seen posts of people taking the solid latches from an older camaro and putting them in to get rid of the electric..

But depending on whats wrong with yours you might be able to just get a a whole unit used at a junk yard or find someone on this site that is selling one ...That's where I getting mine from

Yep, they exist, but sadly the mounting brackets are not the same for the two latches. your best bet is to get a used one since they're like $300 new
