ground effects on Iroc

Anyone know what the differences are in the ground effects on an RS and an Iroc. I would like to put Iroc ground effects, but I don't know what the difference is. Also, how exactly would I go about installing them??

Never really installed them.. but I think the Iroc ground effects are a little smaller than the standard rs ground effects..
Below is a picture of an Iroc
and below that is my car on the sides so you can see the difference

(I hope that works I've never inserted these pictures)

um guys... the iroc has the '85-'90 gfx, and the rs has the '91-'92 gfx. they only difference between the two is the holes ducts in the back of each piece. they might be SLIGHTLY rounder, but i'm not sure. also the rear bumper juts out more from the rear, they are completely interchangable and you could put one piece from a '85-'90 iroc/'85-'87 z28/'88 sport coupe/'89-'90 rs and swap it w/ a piece from a '91-'92 z28/RS and nobody would really tell the difference

Not all RS's got the GFX with those intake things on it. They didn't start until 90 or 91? but all RS's and SC's with GFX before then had the GFX without the little intakes on them. I didn't think the sizes on RS vs. IROCS were any different either. If you buy GFX from Classic Industries they are the same for both cars. So the only difference is when they started putting the little intakes at the rear of the piece (front and side GFX).

Oh sorry. On installing the front GFX, there are bolts on the inside of the piece that go all the way around. For the side piece (on door) I think there are bolts in the bottom of the door (never removed these, but have everything else), the pieces under the doors have screws in the door jamb, screws behind the emblems, bolts on the underside of the car, and a speed nut at the back (you have to take the trim piece off that covers the sides of the car where the back seats are), for the panels behind the wheels there are two speed nuts for each that hold it on at the bottom sheet metal - take the spare tire out and pull the instructions/insulation and you will see them), and the back piece is actually part of the back bumper cover. There are three bolts on each side, hammer nuts along the bottom, and a couple of blots behind the license plate. Run on sentence? NAH

*From what I've seen* all GFX are the same within their given sub-generation.. (sub-generation meaning '82-84, '85-87, '88-'90, '91-'92). The only major change I've seen is for the ground effects on the '91-'92 sub gen, which is when the little intakes were added.. it's also a year when camaros weren't designed to NOT have GFX.. some proprietary stuff exists on those '91-92 gfx.. for instance, the front fender attachments for the nose GFX are completely different.. the fender actually extends below its visible point and has holes in it for the clips.. I've got a friend who lost his nose GFX on his '92 rs when he met a traffic light post whom I might be able to get pics off to show this.. V, I didn't know the rear '91-92 spoiler center piece wasn't bolt-on.. interesting info, and useful for that friend (who's repainting). Thanks =)
Also, the '91-92 gfx/spoiler/whatnot seem to be more pronounced.. slightly larger, etc.. but that could easily be my imagination..

They are the same. The pre-90's fenders for cars with GFX still have the attachment points also. As far as I have seen, the only difference in GFX in 3rd gens are the intakes on the 91-92 cars. The lengths aren't different, because the size of the car did not change, neither did the wheelbase.

Sorry, now that I look at the stats, in 88 the Camaro gained 4.2 inches in length. But the wheelbase remained the same. Maybe they were a bit longer in 88, but they still did not change length from then on.

that's because in '88 they "gained" ground effects. all camaros had them from '88 on.

In Camaro ground FX there are three distinct factory varieties. The 82-84 cars had the narrow ground FX with the slots under the front grill, the 85 cars got larger groundfx because of the Iroc release. These remained till the Iroc was finished at which time they changed the FX for the new Z28 in 91.

screamin' chickin.... it is doable. you can put the side gfx and the rear bumper on a bird', but you you still need a firebird specific nose.

btw, i picked up some '87 iroc wheels yesterday for free.
