Do you really need it? On my '89 RS, mine kept on hitting when I would drive onto parking lots with too radical of a terrain change. Eventually it broke, so I took it all the way off. It doesn't seem to make any difference in handling. And if you ask me, it looks better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how in the hell does the air dam affect handling in the first place. It's there to direct air into the radiator to cool the car down when you're driving.

i think two things are being to referred to here: the chin spoiler on Camaros with ground effects, and the air dam, which is used to channel air into the radiator.
And I'm sorry, but my mental picture of an RS with no chin spoiler in front looks like COMPLETE A$$. Did you leave the side ground effects on?
EDIT: if you mean you took the 'air dam' off, then aren't you having overheating problems?

The air dam does NOT affect handling in ANY way....it IS there to assist directing air into the radiator. Not sure Ovrclck350, but the Camaro may get away without it (they have a "grill", whereas we don't). You can buy a replacement air dam from www.nextgenparts.com for about $25.00 plus shipping.
