Fender side moldings on Firebird?
Fender side moldings on Firebird?
Hey guys,
So, in my search for a cheap passenger side Fender that was in better shape than the one I removed to save me some time, I picked one up tonight. Problem is, once I get home, I realize I bought an 82-84 style Fender!
From what I can tell however, the only real difference between that and the 85-92 style is the side molding piece (one long strip instead of the short, stubby spike on the later years). Is there an easy way to swap moldings? just curious. If not, I may have to decide which fender to actually fix.

There should be some plastic posts poking through on the inside with some sort of nut or press on connector holding it. Or it just might be double sided sticky tape. If you can get them apart without breaking them you should be fine. And since you'll have the fenders off, getting at them should be the easy part.
