Frame bent?
I have the post below about my car being totalled, I went out today and measured the gaps between panels and stuff.
This is how they are:[*] Between Trunk and side fenders on drivers side 3/16"....On Passenger side 5/16"[*] Between back of door and rear fender on drivers side 3/16"....On passenger side 5/16"
Is this atleast 1/2 normal or does that confirm that my frame is bent.
I dont know if it is an optical illusion or what, but if I look at it from behind it looks like it sits so the drivers side is an inch or two higher than the passengers, if I get my film developed today I'll post a pic for your opinions.
Thanx,
Brian

86 Firebird, 305 4bbl, Flowmaster 80 series.
Sound System: Pioneer Head Unit, 2 Ground Zero 12" Nuclear Series Subs, Rockford Fosgate wiring, Crappy Amp untill July
Work to be done in July: New Engine (383 or bigger) New worked 700R4, power Sunroof, Kobel predator Body kit, Ram Air II hood, Rims, Tires, 1.5" lowering springs, and re-done interior...I want yellow and black but the 4th gen conversions look tempting, oh yeah painting it Yellow also

If it one side "looks" higher than the other than the frame is BENT!.
My car was hit before and the drivesride was a good foot higher than the passenger side.
Of course I got it fixed. If I had full coverage it would of definitely been totalled according to the body shop.
But I had to save it
Just think about it, an 86Firebird with high miles is worth what...my guess around $1500?
Straightening the frame, replacing all the broken components, and paint ..would end up costing over $3k.
If you had full coverage, shes totalled.
