Removing rear seat back.

Do I have to remove the plastic molding on the sides. There doesn't seem to be enough room for the tool. Has anyone not removed the molding? How did you do it?

I removed it when I put in my stereo. Are you talking about talking off the top or bottom half? Have you taken off the seats themselves (the part you sit on)?

From: pgh,pa,
take out the bottom seat parts, and then take off the two 10 mm bolts (one on each side) use a wrench it might be easier to get to.

The side trim doesn't require romoval. Remove the one bolt that holds in the bottom seats. Next depends on which seat back style you have. A split seat back is removed by removing the bolt at the outer hinge from below. Then unlatch that seat and tip the seat back forward as you rotate the outer side forward. The seat will pull free from the center hinge at the driveshaft tunnel hump. While you ahve it out, I found the outer hinge is a source of rattles. Mine was lose and had a metal to metal contact. I filled the gap with a couple of plastic washers a metal washer. I smeared a little grease on the washers too. Not the hinge moves freely, but has no gap or rattle. Good luck, Lon.
