when i put the power windows down in my '87 iroc coupe they rattle like they're going to fall out. if someone shuts a door a little too hard with a window down, the sounds are so terrible i look on the ground for broken glass. i took the door panel off in retaliation, nosed around a bit, and the only thing i found was a worn away old rubber stoper on the rear bottom part of the frame that goes up and down with the window. i replaced these with similar stopers i found at a great hardware store around and continued to put my doors back on with all new trees(lowes). this was a pain to do and did nothing for my problem. the sound seems to be coming from the bottom front of the door, but that doesn't necesarily mean that is were the problem is. any knowledge or other findings on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

 

my guess is either there are some nylon bushings on the window tracks that are worn or you missed some of the rubber pads inside the door somewhere...

Check the metal tabs that have that felt stuff on the top of the door frame. They need to be adjusted.
