What would be your ultimate third gen????

If money were no object,I would want a black t-top IROCZ like a 88 or 89 and drop in a supercharged tpi 350 or 383 with like about 450hp with a mean idle,a tricked out 700R4 with a shift kit and 3:42 posi rear, with a mean sounding borla exhaust with the 4 chrome tips and no restrictor plates,as for the inside a medium or dark gray interior with leather everywhere:seats doorpanels, trunk lining even the ceiling maybe. As for exterior the paintjob would be a flawless midnight black with like 4 or 5 clear coats on it,a 4"inch cowl hood and weld draglite chrome rims,no front plate, just the "camaro" grill, also some taillight blackouts with the diagonal slots, and 5% window tint all around, even on the windshield.what would you guys do??????????

------------------
86 IROC,canary yellow(originally black),fully loaded.305TPI WITH 700R4/SHIFT KIT,2:73 POSI REAR,4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES,T-TOPS,POWER LOCKS,POWER WINDOWS,TILT,CRUISE,SADDLE INTERIOR,POWER ANTENNAE,SPOILER OFF 87 IROC SO NO THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ON ROOF,16" BY 8" RIMS OFF 89 IROC,3"INCH EXHAUST WITH A 2 CHAMBER FLOWMASTER AND 3 1/2" BY 18" LONG CHROME TIPS,20% TINT ON SIDES,HATCH AND T-TOPS,GTS TAILLIGHT COVERS,AFTERMARKET FOG LIGHTS,PIONEER CD RECIEVER WITH REMOTE AND DETACHABLE FACEPLATE,WITH JENSON SPEAKERS ALL AROUND,TALKING RADAR DETECTOR"BACON ALERT"

....Long live the EIGHTIES!!!

I like your description. I'd like mine to be a blown 350 or 383 with all the goodies in a IROC 'vert which is beefed up to handle the power. Full exhaust system that'll rumble the other car to pieces. A sound system that'll also rumble the other car to pieces... My car will also look just like Mr. IROC-Z's 'vert but with a killer engine and sound system!

I'd probably want Tom Paneseny's old 89 IROC, with the possible exception of the graphics on the side.

Well, for me, its my baby. my 1986 IROC Camaro. i want to swap out the engine with a ZZ4 350. Then i want to AT proch arge it, and get it to around 14 PSI on street gas (if thats possiable)

for the outside, t-tops, SFCs. (of course)

a new white paintjob, with blue flames coming from the front of the car, blasting over the sides, and IROC-Z spelled on the side. maybe add some blue electricity bolts on the sides spelling it.

that, and a swap from a automatic, to a built 6-speed.

thats my psudo-original idea and plan for my baby.

I'd say if money were no object, i'd make one like mr. iroc z's car, exact same except with some crazy amount of horsepower 350.

I like what I hear all except for the 700-R4.

How about a T-56 so that you can really bang through the gears with all that horse power!

If money was no object I would buy a Vette, but IF I WERE TO WORK ON THE CAMARO I would do the following:

Have it totally disambled, every piece off, then each piece would be rebuilt, restored or replaced with superior parts. There would be no knicks, no paint flaws, no dings, and the engine would be a small block 400 with a 6 Speed manual, it would have 4.10's and the interior would kick butt. I would then toss nitrous on it for the fun of it....

The block would be coated red, everything else red and nickle... WOW.. Would it would be great..

Brian K - Yeah! Total Frame off Restoration of a third gen Camaro, but except with replacing everything with stock parts, you would have premium parts, Even all the screws would be stainless steel! With Locktite on every one of the bolts!

I would restore the crap out of my car, then for the drivetrain: a 540" big block and a nice big supercharger sticking out of the hood. about 1000 hp would be good, and if I were rich enough to not worry about money, this would be my daily driver

I'm 16 and I'm trying to talk my Dad into letting me buy a 3rd gen Camaro if I can find a cheap one with some engine and tranny probs, but a good body. (I can use some help or advice on that anyways too!)

I want to put in one of my Dad's old 57-58 392 Hemi's w/ 3x2bbl 500cfm carbs. Get an adapter plate, then put a TH400 behind it. I'd also buy a Gear Venders Overdrive unit. Prob put 3.23 gears and a posi in it.

If $$$ were no option, prolly put a blown 392 or 426 Hemi in a Camero.

Either one of the cars to have T-tops, a Ram Air II hood, painted Drak Metalic Blue, and 17" polished Aluminum Rims.

The asking price for Panaseny's old 89 IROC w/ the supercharged 420 was $25,000.

Blade, I must admit that ya caught a typo of mine. *L*

So, Does anyone have any information or suggestions on how I can convince my Dad to let me buy a Camaro that has some engine and tranny probs? Heck, it doesn't have to have an engine or tranny at all.

You guys sure like the super chargers. If money was no issue I'd be twin turbo for sure. I don't think I'd use TPI just because it seems some what limited. I'd probably have the 900cfm TBI system with the SFI injector rail. Then I'd have to be using a 400 SB, SLP stainless 3" exhaust. I'd even have a 150hp NO2 kit. That would be in a hardtop 91-2 RS or z28. It would have to have a 2.5" cowl hood and the high rise spoiler from the z's. Wheels would be some kind of 18x8 IROCs polished not chrome. The paint would have to be bright red and a z-28 front grill no fog lights (intercooler to scare ALL cars on road, not just imports). The suspension would be all worked up SFC, 3 point STB, LCA, panhard, 1.5" lower springs, high perf shocks/struts, etc. The car wouldn't have a rear defroster but would be tint 5%, front windows ~35% and no banner saying chevy or camaro because I don't want dumb dults knowing it's a camaro from the banner, they should know from the looks and sound. I didn't go into depth with the engine build up but for sure it would be forged and file fit etc. Heads probably AFR if I need too keep emissions equipment. The car would need to have A/C just because that's how it came and that's what I like on a cruise. As for the trans, T56 or 4L60 built up to handle the mad hp. Rear end would not be ford just because nothing else on the car is (12 bolt posi 3.42 or 3.73 gears depending on engines dyno results and if it's a top speed or 1/4 mile queen). A killer stereo is a definate (focal or MB quart, even kicker subs and alpine v12 amps). The only other thing that most of you forgot would be sound deadening. I think it is the most important thing for our cars. $110 from www.b-quiet.com for the 90^2 roll and you're set. Car sounds like a lexus inside but you can still hear the low engine tones and turbo. Really though, if I could stress 2 things for any camaro it would be SFCs and sound deadening for sure. I'm just sick and tired of the little anoying rattles and road noise. Makes me want to drive my car more often.
Forgot to add about the shaved door handle kit, antenna, and RS side skirt emblems.

Mine would be a black on black 92 Formula Firehawk(dream car-no black ones)with the all aluminum 366" motor, the Brembo brakes, the $1000 Recaros for both sides,a 6 point roll bar with a Corvette IRS out back. All this plus lowered 1.5",chrome plate the wheels and deep tint the windows.

I own mine as well, although it'd be totally restored. I'd drop a poncho 400 block, with efi and a supercharger, posi, all that good stuff..Put firehawk wheels (91-92 style, or something remotely similar in a 17 or 18 inch wheel), 3 or 3 1/2 inch exhaust(dual pipes with two mufflers and big a** dual tips on each side. Put a aero spoiler on the back, paint it red and put a big screamin' chicken on the hood. yeah...that'd be nice....
