rust removal

i have rust under the paint on a piece of my car, and was wondering if i should sand it down and neutralize it before it gets worse? It is not a daily driver, and it's not going to get painted until I move out. Any info is appreciated.

Yeah, get rid of it before it spreads, cause that's what it will do. If you leave it, you could wind up w/ a nice hole, which is much harder to fix.
