Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think you will get a consensus that the Camaro is MUCH sexier than the rustang here at thirdgen.org!

The only reason why I got a Camaro becuase I think it looks a WHOLE lot better than those puny little boxy 5.0 mustangs. Although, here in Houston, there is a place called Performance Mustangs, and they sell suped up 5.0's. Some of them look pretty damn sweet, but i'd take my Camaro over em anyday.

Justin's List of likable mustangs (if that is possible)
1)elenor from gone in 60 seconds (that car is nice, but they should have used a camaro)
2)The way the body on the late 80's and early 90's mustang (I believe they started in 88 or 89, who knows I dunno mustangz) But the car in general sucks.. So even should the mustang look better than the camaro, it could never be better than the camaro... though I've yet to see a mustang that looks better than a camaro. Maybe that's personal opinion.. But this is thirdgen.org right?? we all like camaro's that's why we are here, cept my annoying roommate who like to post how he loves imports..

The only exterior look to the rustang GT that I like is the 85-86. I will never own one because it's a Ford, but I do like the style of 85-86 best with 87-93 second. I have owned 4 3rd gens and 0 Fords, though.

I hate the body style of all of the newer mustangs. my all tame hate is the 1980+ mustangs. ugly and boxy, i mean really, they look like nissan sentras.

I think that those rustangs look like girlie cars, and they don't look sporty with their tacky ground effects. They look more like a family coupe than a sports car and you get the same family impression when you sit in one. The seats are high and the interior is not sports car like. When you get in a camaro it feels and look like a sports car on the inside. Am I right?

I wouldn't mind having one if someone gave one in awesome shape to me for say < $500. They have their own following, a wide variety of bolt-on parts, and enthusiests the same way we are. But the cost of modifying and maintaining a Mustang is easily twice if not thrice that of an F-Body. And I can't tell you how many times I've mistaken one for an 80's Cavalier or vice versa.
But as with everything else, there's a reason I've owned 1 Ford to 6 Chevys, three of which were and are thirdgen Camaros.

Lastly, this isn't the place for this type of dispute for two reasons: 1) We're biased here; you'd need an impartial judge. and 2) This is the tech board, not the non-tech board.

The only fox bodies I'd consider owning are a vermillion red 93 Cobra or Cobra R-Looks pretty good for a stang if you convert to 5 lug and put some cobra R's on it. As for the 94-98-they look good except for the fact there's no factory sunroof option available. Canary Yellow Cobra R clones look pretty good to me as do Vermillion Red ones but a 99-01 Firehawk or WS6 blows them out of the water looks wise and is more car for the buck. If I could afford to build my ultimate 92 Camaro I previously described in the "Don't Puke" thread I think it would look better than any other car made for the pony car market to date. I'm quite sure most (not all) would agree with me.

I'll also add that an 85 GT looks more at home on the strip being tall, short, and narrow. But the comparable third gen looks faster top-end and better capable for canyon-carving being long, low, and wide.

yeah definately not a place you should be doing this.. because most people are going to say the camaro.. go to like a honda page and ask them or something, or a general car board.. That would be the best bet..

If you go to a honda board they'll tell you both the mustang and the f-bodys suck, regardless of its generation.LOL
But from purely aesthetic point of veiw, the F-bodys, especially Firebirds are better looking. Beauty is NOT in the eye of the beholder. As a matter of fact in the 80's they did studies on that subjuct and came up with beauty=symetry.Certain parts in relation to other parts.
Simply put some things and people are just easier on the eyes than others.

You could get a mustang with t-tops in certain years, but from the pictures I saw they were very dinky. Nothing like the beefy third gen's.

I do agree that f-bodys look and 'feel' much better, but I don't think the mustang looks terrible. I also like dual exhaust more than a single fat pipe. I would like to get a super gaudy mustang and throw in a hopped up flathead, but other than that, f-body rules.

Each car has it's good and bad points. I don't like the GT's styling, that's why I bought an LX. My 84 z-28 is alright looking, but I would rather have a formula firebird or trans am. The 4th gen f-bodies are plain hideous. The 93-97 camaro looks like a geo and the 98+ like a chrysler sebring. The 98+ t/a looks like the bat mobile. The new edge stangs aren't that much better. If they went back to the 3rd gen t/a and camaro styling that would be alright with me. Oh, and the camaro will be getting a 350 in the future after the stang gets a 347 stroker. t-tops were available in all 79-88 fox stangs with the convertible being started in 1983.
