What tops will fit my car. I have a set lined up to buy, but the guy told me they will fit any 82 to 92 fbody. Is this true???? If so great. But i thought all years woulld be different.....

yeah, they'll fit, you might just have to do a little tweaking with the mounting pieces on the car to get them so seat all the way. I also have a '92 with the lexan tops and I found a set of the glass ones. I haven't put them on yet but test fitting them I'm just going to have to move the rear mounting plates down about 1/4". thats it

By adjusting you mean the round place where the tops actually lock in right??? With the bolts you loosen and slide the thing up and down....

I got the left top from a friend that got it from another friend. It's from a later model third gen, and the difference is in the mounting tabs. The original top has hooks that clamp the top down. The later one has pins that come out sideways. I just ground out the slots to holes. Then adjusted them down a little bit.

yeah, I mean the plate with the holes in it, just move them down until you get the top to seal right, that is of course if your tops dont have the hooks

Better check the fitment before you spend the money or make sure you can return them if they don't fit. I've seen three thirdgens with stock ttops and not one set from any of the cars would fit any except the ones they came from.
