Dash Question
Dash Question
I was just wondering if there is any mounting differences from a 83 trans am dash to say a 92 trans am dash (or any 82-92 dash for that matter) or will it fit fine??
PS: anyone know where i can find a cheap 70-72 TRANS AM 455HO (hehe)

If your ? about the dash is serious, and not just a ploy to find a second gen, then, both dashes are the same dementions, but the '87 and later had electronic speedos, and also, you'd have to replace all of your senders. The later model dashes have different readings on the guages.

Dave, Dash pads are interchangable between all years. 82-92. I bought an 87 or new style for my '82 from a junk yard for $10. The newer stle is less likely to crack off the speaker grill corners.Put Some foam between the pad and the mounting holes and don't overtighten the screws and it may have a long happy life. Stop side stepping the clutch too.
