Anyone hear of a GM DOT fender

I've been looking for an OEM front fender and a source I found has one that's marked GM DOT on the inside. Never heard of this until I saw the pic he sent me. The owner claimed it to be an authentic GM part. I thought all GM body sheet metal were labeled beginning with an alpha p/n. I googled it and there is a company out there called GM Parts, but disclosure states it's not affiliated with General Motors. If anyone can shed some light on this, it will be truly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Anyone hear of a GM DOT fender

It's definitely a GM replacement... My 87 had one on the driver's side (I still have it but it's in the garage). There are 2 stickers, one is the GM DOT sticker and the other is a part number, which may have come off by now. I know mine has.
