I have an 85 Camaro SC, Automatic. I need to replace the center console. I think I've figured everything out, except how to get the ball off the shifter. Can anyone tell me how to do it? And if you have any other tips on problems that might arise I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

 

There is a U pin in the shifter ****. Pull it out w/ pliers or use a knife to get it out. Once removed, the **** will come off.

I just yanked, but yeah, the best way would be to pull out the button, get at the c-clip with a knife (I used 2 little screw drivers) and pull it off. A good tug should work though.
