Convertible Top Adjustments
Has anyone ever done adjustments on one of these convertible tops? The only way I see in adjusting them is with body shims which I think sucks. The passenger side is sagging more than the driver side and I want to adjust it. Any help would be great.

Well, do you have any pics? Do you mean as the top is acting as the roof, the passenger side is lower than the driver side? My car is in storage and I will look at it this weekend to try and think of a way to do what you are saying. I wouldn't want to shim it or any other sloppy rigging either.
Three years ago, I bought my 71,000 mile convertible. I got it from a newer dealer in town at the end of the summer (late August in Wisconsin) and he really wanted to move it. The window sticker said $7495. It had brand new paint all around.
I found the previous owner. He did some minor damage to the front end. I saw the pictures, no biggie. New nose. The car is straight. He was a guy in his mid forties, traded it in on a Caddy.
The dealer had two convertibles and didn't want them sitting there all winter, so right away, he said he would take $6000. I would have paid that, but I kept my mouth shut and took it for a drive. It needed a tranny mount, ($15 and 10 minutes labor). The top was not bad, (one dime size hole on the passenger side where the door pillar would be) and the interior was a little sun faded, not much wear beyond that. Except those little pieces that are by the seat belt area had some cracks on the long skinny part. And somone broke a key of in the driver door lock cylinder (again, very minor). It also needed valve seals, typical. It smoked a little at startup and a little when you got on it. No biggie. The old owner didn't change his oil as often as I would have.
Anyway, I hemmed and hawed about every little imperfection on the car (again, nothing major at all) and I wrote him a check for $4,000 plus fees. I would be picking the car up the next day.
Of all things, that night, some a$$hole decides to walk over the car the long way. Luckily he did no damage except to bend one of the bows in a little bit. I got in the back seat and pushed up on it with my feet until it was even with the others. No problem. Drove away.
This is how I fixed my uneven top problem.
Yours might not be as easy, but I think between everyone here, we should be able to come up with an answer to your problem.

The only thing I've ever done is to adjust the screws behind the rear seat belt retracting points. Are those the body shims you're talking about? I did this to even the contact points over the windshield, not b/c of any uneven tilt. Also, are the bows above the seats bent? If it's been wrecked, that could be the source of the sagging.

Convertible Top getting pinched by window
So, I just bought a nice 89 IROC-Z Convertible. It just underwent an 18 month refurb. Very nice car, but a few of the things they did were sloppy.
One of those was the Convertible top. Brand new, looks great. However, the windows on both sides are pinching the canvas at the rear part of each window with the windows all the way up and the doors closed. I have no idea how to adjust the top so that this doesn't happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (see pics) Thanks!
