another seat question... thirdgen only
another seat question... thirdgen only
I have a question for whoever... I am in the process of replacing the red base seats in my '88 camaro with leather seats from a '92 Z28. Are the '92 seats any better than the '88's, especially since the '88's suck and the '92's have headrests and are grey leather? Any info? I'm getting them regardless, but I'd be nice to know if the newer ones are more supportive or anything like that.

Thirdgen Camaro seats all suck, some just suck less than others. Both of my Camaros have the "better" style seats that have the separate headrest. Neither is the least bit comfortable, but I don't seem to get a sore back even after long trips. My *** gets numb though. Those leather 92 seats will basically feel the same, except leathery.
They are a decent improvement over the base-model seats that come with the 1 piece seat back (i.e. non adjustable headrest). Unless you're getting a hell of a deal on the seats, I'd wait until you come across some 4th gen firebird seats. There are some on ebay right now. They'll go cheaply (at least in cloth) and are MUCH more comfortable.

$250 for the full set. And they are in perfect condition yet. I kinda do wanna wait for some seats out of a bird or newer maro. But if they aren't that supportive, couldn't I get more "stuffing" stuffed under the seats??

Just go to ebaymotors.com and type "seats" into the search. You can try to narrow it down with "firebid seats" but I forget the exact title.
