Switching 4th gen gauge cluster into 3rd gen

Is it possible to switch a 4th gen gauge cluster into a 3rd gen without changing out the whole dash?

It can be done, I have see it. The only problem is if you want everything work right you have to have a LT or LS motor to work right with ECM and tranny. The width is about the same but I know there is alot of diffent issues to go through. Where the radio and HVAC goes down there is an issue with the hump for the dranny being a differnt size. I don't know the guy personally but I talked with him onces at Porky's (local crusing spot) and those were the big things that he had said.
