Fenders
Fenders
Hi,
I'm looking for 2 fenders for an '84 Z. There's tons of places selling them, it's pretty amazing.
Anyone have any experience with buying any?? (other than GM originals).
Fit & rigidty (sp?) are my 2 concerns. I want a good fit AND something strong that won't "oilcan". Drilling for GXF is no biggie.
Thanks,
Ed

I got a pair of new GM fenders for $200 on mine. The reason I went GM was that aftermarket fenders are often flimsy or don't have the right size or lines. It'll cost you a little more, but the GM fenders will look a lot better. Whenever you swap fenders they'll be difficult to install because as the car flexes over time the fenders get a little tweaked so unused ones won't slide right back on, but like I said they will last longer and they will look better.
About the not fitting perfect part, your dead on the money pal!!! I had to drill, have a friend press on, open the holes a little & shoot the car with my gun to get them on!
