Can I change my 110mph instrument panel to 145mph?

My instrument panel registers up to 110mph on my 305 92Z28. If I had a 350 Z28, the instrument panel would register to 145mph.

Is it possible for me to remove my 110mph and replace it with the 145mph? Has anyone done this?

You can.
You should be able to just swap em out... Ours are all electronic, not cable driven, so it shouldnt be a problem

Thanks for the replys. I assumed it could be swapped out but I wasn't exactly sure. I was worried that the speedo would have to be corrected. Anyone know where I can find one besides the junk yard?

Have you seen how much those things are going for on ebay? Like 100 bux!! I'd say the best way to get one is to scan the sunday classifieds in your local paper and wait for someone to wreck one a 350. Most people don't know what a good dash is worth. I got mine practically for free from the guy I bought my interior from. He let me take the dash along with the rest of the interior. At the time neither of us knew just how much one of those things could go for on ebay.

Hey guys I also am thinking about making this swap. Does anyone know if it is possible to roll back the milage on the new cluster to match the old one so the milage is accurate... I know this is illigal but if your replacing the 110 with a 145 and just want the 145 to match the 110 it shouldn't be..

thanks,
Bill

hey Bill, I just did what you are talking about, you can roll it back, but you can also just take apart the 2 speedometers, take out your mileage thing and swap it with the new one. It is very easy to swap them, just one little clip.
exact directions: take out the whole guage cluster, remove the speedometer, pull off needle(twist, hold the back so the needle can't spin, remove 2 little screws on speedometer face, remove little clip holding the mileage thing down, take it out

If you want to roll back the other one take it out and start rolling it(kinda gotta figure out how it works to make it roll)if you have an old speedo cable you could probably put it in a drill and spin it to the correct mileage

sorry if this post is kinda confusing but I hope it helps.
