Firebird Question

If youve seen a 82-84 Firebird Front End, you notice it has front grills under the headlights. Are these functional? If so Im thinkin of getting them for now until the full hood scoop lol

Re: Firebird Question

no they are not, even if they were, there is a steel bumper behind them and it wont do much for air flow

Re: Firebird Question

Yea, checked mine out already saw for myself unfortunately. Does anyone know of a way to increase air flow? I was surprised it even could suck in air down there am I the only one whos air intake is behind passenger side front headlight? its just a round hole in the filter? Or am I missing something

Re: Firebird Question

yes, actually they are. Zen, being you have an 89 you have a duct system that directs the air to your rad. this wasnt done on the 82-83 cars, it was open and the bumper frames step over to allow air flow.

i have seen some guys put mesh in the vent area to better the air flow vs the stock grills.
