Trans Am or Z-28 ground effects?

Ok I figured out how to put my GFX on one I took a good look at them Anyways the reatainers that slip under the lip of the fground efects, some have threads, some threads are striped off, and some are just smooth studded(talking about the retainers I ahve from GM or that are currently in the GFX's) SO I know that some of my new ones have threads so I am going to use them and just put a nut and washer on the back to hold them in.

So the question is, and I think the Camaros are the same, how do you get the old retainer out and the new one in.

Please help me quickly, I only have till abhout 3pm on Sunday to get as much of this car done as possible this weekend.

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

The thin metal retainers (with the threaded studs) that hold on the gfx just slip under the lip of the fx,, nothing really holds them in except friction.

*side note* my site is back up apparently for that link I sent you and I got a few more pix taken tonight if you need them while I was putting on my fenders

Go to a local paint supply store, (some) they carry just about all the diff types retainers used on cars.

(sorry they are blurry) You can get a thread cutting nut, they are just thin stamped nuts that are hardened and will cut new threads in a softer metal or (no pic available) there are also little push on retainers that don't back off,, they are round like a washer and have a hole in the center but have 'starfish' like fingers cut in them (paint supplier would know what they look like). Either one should work just fine for you,, just take the part in with you so you can get the correct size.

Sweet that is exactly what I needed to know.
Deadbird you are really helping me out here. I am going to owe you a pizza or a case of beer when I get my car done.
