Hinge pin / bushing lower driver door

My driver door is sagging and tough to close. I see this hinge looks terrible and wondered how likely it is that this could be the entire issue? I can close the door with upward force. It is scraping the ground effects to the rear of the door only.

Yes IMO that would be a good place to start your door repair.

Re: Hinge pin / bushing lower driver door

Its not the entire problem. That is the detent roller, it basically holds the door open so it doesnt come back and hit you when you get out.

You will need to replace (1) detent roller (2) lower hinge bushings (1) lower pin (2) upper hinge bushings (1) door striker, per door.

The lower bushings generally come with the pin. The lower pin (new) will probably be loose in the bores because more than likely they have enlogated over the years. If this is the case, the pin remains stationary in the bores and can be welded in place.
There is a greasable option (upgrade) for the upper hinge bushings available.

Re: Hinge pin / bushing lower driver door

Have someone help you with the diagnosis of the door hinges. Have them grab hold of the bottom of the open door and lift, then release it while you closely inspect the upper and lower hinge pins with a flashlight. If you see movement in just the lower pin and bushings, then the job is much less expensive. If you see movement in upper pins and bushings, then they too will need to be replaced.
