did I get the wrong weatherstripping?
On a long drive yesterday I got to thinking about my t-tops and how noisy and leaky they are. When my car got painted in June, I had the weatherstripping on the actual t-top replaced. It was obviously too short to fit, but the guy stretched it and said it would work. It stays stretched for about a week at a time. I was wondering yesterday...did he order the wrong part? Is the glass panel on a 4th gen smaller than my 3rd gen? That would explain the smaller weatherstrip...

Yes, you will DEFINITELY need to get the CORRECT T-top seals for your car to stop the wind noise and water leakage. Sounds like the guy tried to do a hack job by using 4th gen seals on a 3rd gen. The T-tops on a 4th gen are quite a bit smaller in length than a 3rd gen T-top. I would say the difference is at least an inch or two. However, that inch or two is like a mile when it comes to the proper weatherstrip sealing of a 3rd gen T-top.
Goodluck!
