Body side moulding - repair

My body side moulding has got a problem that appeared out of no where. All of a sudden I noticed the top of them were brown. Cleaning did nothing. Only sanding seems to remove the ugly brown colour. Could this be due to Meguiar's Back--to--Black ? That's the only thing I've used on there.

I have to sand these things. Is there anything I have to do before painting them?
Is there a primer I should use?
They appear to made of the same material as the Aero spoiler and I've heard how badly paint sticks to them.
Any help is appreciated.

Update.
Sanding them on the door is a pain.
It is taking too long.

Can someone tell me how to remove these from the door. (without damaging the door)
Thanks

gotta use a razor blade, they're glued on there, then use 3m adhesive emblem tape to put them back on

If they are glued on you might want to look for some adhesive remover that won't damage the paint. It seems like if you try to cut it off you might damage the paint giving yourself a really cool looking rust spot...

I actually used a plastic putty knife and a heat gun to pull mine off. But Mine were coming off permenatly. The plastic putty knife cut thru it pretty good without harming the paint.
