Front spoiler repairable?

The front spoiler on my '91 RS is pretty scraped up on the bottom, and has 2 or 3 pretty noticeable cracks running vertical along it. Would there be any way to repair these cracks without taking it to a body shop. One is located to the left of the grill and is the largest (about 3-4in long), the second is to the left of the left turn signal light. Basically, I'm just looking for any suggestions as to what i'm looking at with this. Do you think i should do try it myself, with minimal car knowledge, take it to a body shop, or just try to buy another front spoiler. Thanks.

Well, the only way to get car knowledge is to start trying stuff. If you always take it to someone else, you'll never learn. Besides, what's the worst that can happen if you try it yourself? That's right, it doesn't work and you take it to a body shop. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

From behind brace over the cracks with something using JB Weld or something like that (rough up the surface.) Then get the two part eurathane bumper epoxy/repair kit from your local Advance Auto parts to fill in the cracks from the front. Smooth it out and voila'! Done.

When I worked at a body shop I saw a guy use a hot knife to fix cracks in bumper covers--of course you'll have to use plastic filler too. Once it was done you couldn't even tell there was a crack. Crack can't be all the thru tho. If the spoiler is broken from the bottom all the way to the top you won't be able to fix that, but if it's broken to the middle that you can fix.
